Weight is an issue in our modern, western world. Whenever we look like an almost dying person and bones are sticking out of our skin, we admire that. According to what The Others say….
But is this really true?
Statistically the contrary seems to be right. 73% of all men love the round shapes of a woman. But because the media and the model world seems to like the skinny type of women, men want to be seen with a boney type, but want to make out with a woman with real shapes. Round, firm, soft and willing. Big boobies, small waist and a good round butt.
How on earth is it possible that men are influenced in this way? How on earth is it possible that women put down such a negative spell on themselves? And what sucker invented the image of an almost dying person to ultimate this to an example of how a real woman should look? Was this a women hater? Or did women invent this themselves? And why do they do that? Why is this image commonly taken over by the youth and adults? Because we all want to look like some one we are not? Are we just consuming the rules made up by The Others? To me, it is hard to witness that even little girls already want to lose weight. Children at the age of 8 or 9 think they are too thick! Even when they look skinny! Look at MTV, look at advertisements, look at filmstars, look in magazines with all the photo shopped and therefore unrealistic women. It seems to be absolutely disgusting to have some cellulite. Ever seen a bud in real life that was so perfect that you could not tell the difference between the picture and the real bud? Go away! Perfect bodies? Every woman knows something that is not perfect or perfect enough. Many of them are doing plastic surgery in order to get everything the way they believe is perfect. Or do they want to feel good enough for The Others? Does it bring real happiness? Or does it bring even more stress? Once you believe you NEED to LOOK perfect, you will be busy with that each day.
How important is this perfect body when you are on an unknown island all by yourself? Meaning that we THINK we need to look perfect because we want to impress The Others. Because we have bought the belief that only a perfect or almost perfect body will give us what we need: a total acceptance by The Others. Not for our character, but for how we look.
I refuse to buy that belief. I refuse to suffer from a lack of self esteem because I do not fit that apparently ideal look. I rather be ME than sacrifice my identity. I choose to be the real me. With my round shapes, which I totally accept and like. And those persons who judge this as being ugly, own only their thoughts. For all of the women, reading this blog I would like to say the next:
Be yourself. Always. And be aware of the fact that buying a belief that is not yours, will never bring you what you want. Follow your own feeling; YOUR path of life. And experience life the way you believe is good for YOU. Without feeling the need to satisfy The Others. Is that egocentric? No. In my opinion, it is wise to do that in a real self loving way and in a very loving way to the ones you decide to connect to. Having no judgments is a gift you are able to present to yourself. Lasting for a lifetime, it can bring you the upmost satisfaction.
