“Money makes the world go around”, I thought about this. How is this for me? Does money make my world go around? I have never had much money and I never bothered. As long as I could pay my bills and go to a cinema once in a while I felt completely happy. I drove my old car then and I drive an old car now. I do not care much about luxury, cars or pretentious status. I do not care about what The Others might think or believe about me. Still money can be an issue…
I was talking to Brian yesterday and he can barely survive in a financial way, works hard and has difficulties in knotting all ends to a rope. How to pay for everything, how to manage to get enough gas to get to work can be pretty frustrating! It can even create a huge amount of stress. But how does Brian respond to this all?
He decides to be inventive and creates new possibilities to let money “makes his world go around”. As Brian told me he brought his blue-ray DVD player to the Pawn shop I felt shocked. Brian said this was the first time ever he did something like this and he felt comfortable with that. He spoke about creating money for the moment NOW and stayed in the moment Now… He did not run away from it in selfpity or escape in fear. He stayed in the exact moment NOW… The Now of the Pawn shop. This was an eye- opener for me. I was taught that a Pawn shop was something “NOT DONE”…
So here is my dude, 7000 miles apart from me, no money to buy gas and he does not sit on his ass being miserable, no, he walks out of that door and creates an opportunity! Next week he will be able to get it back and that’s that. In the mean time, I felt miserable at the other side of the ocean and worried as I heard this. All based on old beliefs I held…This morning, as I woke up, I thought about it again and decided to let go of the old beliefs I was taught; the belief that only stupid people do things like going to a Pawn shop. The belief that this would be the beginning of the End…The belief that this was Not Done…I created my own belief instead which is that I admire and respect Brian for creating a new way of getting instant money. He feels responsible and will buy it back next week.
This all taught me more about me and my beliefs… Beliefs of which I thought I knew, but did not. Hidden Beliefs…The so called HB’s…
An HB can mislead you because you are not aware of it. Might even bring you in places you feel not comfortable in, like my HB about the Pawn shop did. Hidden Beliefs, we all have them. Gathered and indoctrinated seeds we consider to be ours until we start to feel miserable, uncomfortable or frustrated. We get the HB’s from our parents, teachers, friends, family, internet, movies, media like newspapers and radio and advertisements. We “BUY” them because we apparently did not think for ourselves. Then we dis- cover them and start JUDGING ourselves for being “STUPID”, we even buy another belief; the belief of not being good enough… Well that is stupid, when you believe in something like that since You are ALWAYS GOOD ENOUGH!!YOU and ONLY YOU decide what valuw you want to create for you…
Self judgment can lead to a lack of self esteem or confirm a lack of self esteem. We can be so inventive when it comes to creating misleading beliefs. Its like we want to give ourselves the punch on the head before someone else will. Like we feel satisfied by torturing ourselves and knowing we are not worthy enough. When we do that ourselves we will not feel that surprised when The Others do this to us too. We simply have told our poor souls we are less than The Others. And we create confirmation in this, time after time.We create sutuations in which we EXPECT The Others will look down on us, humiliate us, ignore or insult us. What we expect to happen is what we create… It even seems to be we choose this belief and behavior to create a certainty, a kind of comfortable feeling safety zone of not being good enough. Why? Because we bought the belief The Others once told us? The belief we are not good enough?
In my work I meet many people with a lack of self esteem. They all do the safety zone of not being good enough, believing this is their truth and create unhappiness. Instead of looking inside of themselves to see if this is really their own belief…What could happen when you choose you ARE good enough?Feel Happy? Does that frighten you? Most of you will immediately say NO! But why then do you create Unhappiness instead of Happiness?
I explain to them how a lack of self esteem is CREATED. That Hidden Beliefs are the thieves of true personality. And I give them the tools to dis- cover their real self. This leads to a mostly emotional recognition of their true Self.
All of these years I helped people I have seen this happen over and over again. It’s like I witness the rebirthing of a person. Inventing new beliefs, creating more Happiness, THEIR Happiness……With eyes wide open they feel stunned! But guess what? We apparently are not used to this, so we start to create another belief ….we start to create guilt!
‘Jeez! This means I really have made so many mistakes!”
‘Oh my God! All these Lost years!’………..
‘There are so many people who I misjudged, who felt hurt because of my behavior! I cannot be happy about this at all, I feel ashamed and do not deserve to be Happy!’
But is this true? Are there so called “mistakes” or are there only ways we walked which were not the way we wanted to walk but will walk from now on? A Mis- Take is a learning moment, an insight that is given to you. So why not be grateful for that and decide to create no judgment in this?
And for what’s about the second remark, are there really Lost years? Or do we create guilt in looking back AND judging ourselves for not being able to see it before? Why? Better to feel completely satisfied and create Happiness instead!
Ever thought what your HB’s are? Hidden Beliefs pop up at unexpected moments. There to hand out an insight. Do you take that hand? What are your Hidden Beliefs?
